Taberna de Haro

Incredible restaurant! The milieu and ambiance is absolutely lovely and everything at this restaurant is clearly curated with extreme thoughtfulness and excellence. The food was great, wine list is exceptional (best Spanish wine list I’ve ever seen), and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and professional. If you’re thinking of going to Barcelona, turn around and head to Tabero De Haro for authentic and exceptional food, service, and wine! 5-Stars!

Fabulous tapas. We had the asparagus, the mushrooms, the lamb rack, the spicy garlic shrimp, the clams with chorizo, and the natillas (pudding). We enjoyed the food except for the lamb which was tough to chew. The asparagus and the shrimp were my favorites. The complimentary bread was used to draw the sauce from thr garlic and the clams. Our table outside was on a slope so the drink glasses slid downwards. o

Stepped into Taberna De Haro on a Saturday night around 9:30 with about 7 girls. The hostess asked us if a high top table was okay and proceeded to help us put 2 together to sit at. She brought out some menus and we told her we were just staying for drinks. She silently took the menus and walked away, seemingly annoyed. A waitress then came up to us and said "usually when you come to a restaurant, you check in with the hostess before sitting." We explained to her that we did check in, and the hostess in fact helped us put our tables together. She proceeded to tell us we were lying and said "I saw you put the tables together yourself." We were all horrified as we looked to the back of the restaurant and saw the hostess looking at us and snickering with another waitress. We once again explained to the waitress what happened and told her we were only drinking. She then condescendingly said "would you like some cocktails menu then?" And proceeded to grab cocktail menus. By now we were all way too weirded out that we just left. It was an extremely bizarre situation - nothing like that has ever happened to me at a restaurant. We would have ordered a bunch of drinks and left a great tip as we always do, but the downright rude and disgruntled wait staff/hostess apparently didn't want to do their jobs. Imagine being angry that patrons come in for a few drinks on a Saturday night. I'll also note the restaurant wasn't crowded at all, there were about 10 other people in there. I hear the owners are really nice people, it's too bad they made some terrible hires. I can't comment on the food or drinks because we were never served, but the service was a 0/10.

We stopped for dinner on our way up to Provincetown, meeting some friends who live in Brookline and knew about this place. There were some delicious dishes and we also had the Sherry flight which was enough to share for two people. The squid ink paella was terrific, the clams were delicious, the croquettes we’re good and we had a very pleasant visit. The only thing I would say is that we ate in the front room and there were some very loud patrons who made it difficult to carry on a normal conversation.

We stumbled on this place walking around Beacon St. The staff could not have been more welcoming & the atmosphere is charming. We ordered a bottle of one of the recommended roses on their extensive wine list & were extremely pleased with it. The food was very, very good. We had 5 or 6 items from the tapas menu & 2 small plates - perfect. Highly recommend if you are looking for great food, attentive service & cozy atmosphere!
